Awards and Decorations Function
CCG associates support the awards and decorations function, which encompasses all the United States Air force Installations under the Air Force’s Central Command. Documentation for awards and decorations are received through standard mail and are immediately entered into a transaction database. Associates responsible for that particular type of award and/or decoration retrieve the received documentation from the staging area and review it for completeness and compliance with Air Force regulations. In the event a deficiency is found the processing associate will contact the sending unit for corrections. Once all requirements are met the award and/or decoration certificate with accompanying, ribbon/medal is completed and sent to the recommending unit.
In addition to the normal flow of award and/or decoration recommendations an awards board is convened each quarter. This board is chaired by a General officer and reviews award and/or decoration recommendations, which may involve or include classified details.
